Dermal Fillers

Why do younger people look so young? It’s often because their faces are still full of healthy amounts of fat, collagen and hyaluronic acid. Collagen is a connective tissue that gives strength, elasticity and protection to the skin. Hyaluronic acid acts as a lubricant and moisturizer for the skin.

As a natural part of aging, collagen starts breaking down and the amount of hyaluronic acid lessens. As a result of reduced moisture, strength and elasticity, our once plump, smooth skin starts to show signs of wrinkles, lines, sagging and volume loss. Mix this natural occurrence with certain lifestyle choices such as sun exposure or smoking and those signs of aging will be magnified.

The good news is that dermal filler injections may help restore some of the youthful plumpness to your appearance and give your self-confidence a boost. At Mosaddegh Eye Institute we offer a variety of dermal filler treatments in San Francisco to meet the different needs of our patients.

How Dermal Fillers Work

Dermal fillers are injected under the skin in specific areas of the face. To minimize discomfort, a numbing cream or local anesthesia may be administered. Treatments are done in our office and typically take about 20 minutes. In most cases there is little to no downtime; most patients can return to work or other activities immediately with few restrictions.

Common Dermal Filler Treatment Areas

  • Lines around the mouth
  • Laugh lines
  • Chins
  • Sagging cheeks/volume loss
  • Lips
  • Lower eyelid grooves
  • Forehead

Dermal Filler Results

The results of dermal filler injections will vary based on your own unique skin, which type of dermal filler is used and how you care for your skin after treatment. Results can last from 6-18 months or longer; injections usually must be repeated to maintain the results.

Dear patient,

As people practice social distancing in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency, we want you to know that your health is still a priority for us. We are implementing a telehealth program so that we may continue to serve our patients during this difficult time.

If you have healthcare needs in the coming weeks, including routine follow-up appointment, or even refilling for a prescription, please reach out to our office to schedule a virtual appointment. We will first screen to see if the visit can be completed remotely. Many of the services that we provide can be performed through audio or live audio-visual communications, such as FaceTime and Skype.

For visits that cannot be completed remotely, our clinic is now open for patients to be seen in the office. We are working to implement measures to maintain social distancing and keep everyone safe during this time.

· Mandatory Masking- All patients and visitors are responsible to provide and wear their own mask upon entry. Pt will have to be rescheduled otherwise.

· Isolation- Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms is isolated from waiting areas, patient rooms,. Entrances, and any spaces that the general population uses. No escorting members are allowed into the clinic with the patient, with the only exception being an essential caretaker.

· Cleaning- Our teams are performing extra cleaning and disinfecting in all spaces.

· Employee Screening- We’ve instituted mandatory employee temperature screenings before each shift.

Thank you for your cooperation, and please stay safe.

Regards,
